Senegal

Senegal faced a confirmed case of Ebola during West Africa’s Ebola outbreak in August 2014. It was a person who had entered the country overland. Fortunately, no one else was infected. Nonetheless Senegal has indicated a need for training. A Fact Finding Mission was held through the Medical Mission Institute Würzburg in autumn 2014. While training courses had already been planned for the governmental system, this did not apply to the church sector. The “Association Nationale des Postes de Santé Catholiques du Sénégal” (ANPSCS) was identified as a project partner in Senegal, through which 76 healthcare facilities are now involved in the EFFO project.

Senegal also helped shape the pilot phase of the project. One of the trainers attended the training module development workshop in Ouagadougou in November 2014.
