Health Care Facilities at EFFO
EFFO Health Care Facilities (HCF) is designed to provide acute support to health care facilities in high-risk districts in Rwanda. The focus is on process-related and structural-functional hygiene management.
Hygiene management is very important during Ebola fever outbreaks, in order to protect patients and clinic staff against infection by adequate isolation and room management (high- / medium- / low-risk area).

This project complements the EFFO project and is an emergency aid measure started in August 2019 with a fact-finding mission.
By June 2020, units for temporary isolation (UFTI) are to be completed at two hospitals in high-risk districts.
EFFO-HCF will be implemented together with the Rwandan Ministry of Health and the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC), as well as in cooperation with the Technical University Braunschweig and the Institute for Tropical Medicine and International Health of the Charité-Universitätsmedizin.
