The SicoR project covered activities focusing on strengthening Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) practices for high-consequence infectious diseases (e. g. Ebola virus disease) and emerging diseases (e. g. COVID-19) in healthcare facilities in Rwanda.

Specialists from the Robert Koch - Institute (RKI) laboratory carried out a PCR training course for SARS-CoV-2 diagnostics at the Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC) in Kigali in February 2020. In addition, diagnostic kits were provided to the RBC.
