June 2018: EFFO training in Rwanda begins

In response to the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo which started in 2018, the EFFO project trained nine doctors and nurses in neighboring Rwanda. The five-day training course covered personal protective equipment as well as learning and reflecting on the EFFO methodology.

The "Train-the-Trainer" event took place in the context of the ESTHER Hospital Partnership between the Institute of International Health of the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (Germany) and the University Teaching Hospital of Butare – CHUB (Rwanda). The EFFO project was at the time an associated partner of the ESTHER Hospital Partnership.
